From the dashboard, click on Mailbox on the left. The first thing you will do is create a mailbox. You want to create a mailbox for each unique data source. So if you plan on sending emails to InboxParser from your live chat service and online appointment schedule and maybe third party cart, you would want to create three mailboxes.
For this example, I'm going to create one and label it "The authorized.Net". Click the 'Create' button after giving it a name.
Most customers have just a single email parser for each mailbox. Some customers however, receive varying formatted emails from a single data source. In this case, they'll create mailbox for each uniquely formatted email that needs to have the data parsed. Sometimes it's helpful when creating multiple email parsers that handle varying formats from a single source to first filter the emails going through each parser prior to configuring the parser fields. We'll cover separating these different formats more in our filters article.
Once the mailbox is created and it says waiting to receive an email. At this point you need to copy the mailbox address and paste it into whatever third party service is sending emails to your applications. Once an email hits the inbox, you are now ready to configure your email parser fields.
The 'Parser Fields' is where we define what data to extract from the email. To create a parser field, highlight the data you want to be parsed. Give it a label, what you type here is only for your point of reference. So it can be anything. If you have the value you want highlighted, click 'Save'.
We have an entire article dedicated to configuring InboxParser fields with more advanced methods. Sufficing to say in this particular article, InboxParser can extract data that other email parsers simply cannot. The field is configured once the data you are after is highlighted correctly in the preview pane on the right. Repeat this process until you have a parser field set for each data point you want from the email. Parser field data is available from the subject, plain text body or HTML body sections.
You can adjust this if desired by clicking the edit button. Adjusting the field label and clicking confirm. Check out the actions article next.
